Secret Santa Workshop Brings Delight to All PDF Print

"Chief Elf" Sue Becke prepares gift wrap for the Secret Santa ShopThe Christmas spirit of giving was in the air as students shopped enthusiastically at the 9th Annual Secret Santa Workshop. With the help of dedicated elves, kids selected gifts for parents, grandparents, siblings, and other relatives -- even their pets -- and then wrapped and labeled each gift. Great care was taken by many to select "just the right thing" and shoppers of all ages talked with excitement about how and when they would be able to give their gifts.

From their remarks, one could tell that they were in the spirit:

"I'm going to have my Mom open this present FIRST!"

"My sister will love this!"

"My Dad will be able to use this..."

"My dog will like playing with this, and maybe he won't eat my slippers if he chews this."

"I don't really know this person but she is family, and she should get a present."

The Secret Santa Workshop is led each year by CLS parent and "Chief Elf" Sue Becke. Sue envisioned the shop nine years ago and, like Santa, works throughout the year to find quality items in the proper quantity and style to ensure a fun shopping experience for the kids. The event is as much a treat for the elf helpers and teachers, as Sue provides goodies for their enjoyment. Our thanks to Sue for helping keep Christ in Christmas and sharing the spirit of giving to young and old!
