Learning Goes Online with New Mobile Computer Lab PDF Print

Students work with the new Computer LabWith the tapping of keys and animated conversations over projects and discoveries, one thing is certain: CLS teachers and students are enjoying use of their new mobile computer lab. The lab features top-of-the-line Dell laptops with wireless capability in a mobile cart, making it easy to move between classrooms or other instructional locations through out the school.

Donated by the Family Partnership Program (FPP) starting with the 2010-2011 School Year, the lab includes a projector and additional teacher laptop so that students may practice as their teacher demonstrates.

The FPP is also supporting the new Computer Literacy Teacher, who is implementing a technology curriculum from grades K to 8 that progresses through skills such as keyboarding, building powerpoint presentations, producing graphics, using spreadsheets and beyond. Although each classroom has long featured several desktop computers that allow students to research during regular classroom time, this dedicated lab and curriculum help to build a solid foundation of technical skills that will enhance all areas of instruction.
