Exceptional Education, Formed in Faith

About

Our Mission: Exceptional Education, Formed in Faith

Building Faith in Education

Formed in 2000, Carroll Lutheran School is a private Christian co-educational school for children in Kindergarten through Eighth grades. In 2006, after only 6 years in rented space at St. Benjamin’s Lutheran Church, Carroll Lutheran School built and moved into a facility on 17 pastoral acres off Route 140 in beautiful Westminster, Maryland.

Our faculty and staff are unmatched in their dedication to our children, with impressive credentials that include extensive experience in public and private schools.

We enjoy tremendous support from families and the larger community, with a Board of Trustees that includes respected members of the business community and support from area churches and financial organizations.

Please take some time to review our site and get in touch to arrange a school visit or discuss how you may help us further our mission within the Westminster community and beyond.

Carroll Lutheran School has a mission to develop servant leaders who honor God and love others while receiving an exceptional education, formed in faith. We are intentional in joining the home and church to help students become who God created them to be. Each day our students are drawn to be servants of God and do Kingdom work. Each class is assigned a "friend in faith." These "friends" are either local Lutheran churches that govern the school or Carroll Lutheran Village. The 2nd-grade class was assigned Carroll Lutheran Village as their "friend in faith" this year. The class created this artwork for the residents of health care at CLV. These delightful creations are on display for residents and visitors to see. These small acts of kindness are not only fun for the students to create but go a long way in brightening these residents' faces. ... See MoreSee Less

A tradition with Mrs. Ferguson's 1st-grade class is to write about their hobby and present it to the school and to their parents. Learning to present in 1st grade helps students build confidence, develop communication skills, encourage critical thinking skills, and unleash their creativity. Learning presentation skills lays a foundation for lifelong learning and development that are applicable in various areas of life, from school to extracurricular activities to careers. One parent reported that it was "very touching to see not only how well and confidently the 1st-graders presented their reports and took pride in their projects, but also - and especially - how generously and thoughtfully the other CLS students contributed, asking thoughtful, age-appropriate questions, encouraging the 1st graders, showing genuine interest, and helping the younger one's practice presentation skills." Parents recognize how personable and confident the students are as a whole at Carroll Lutheran School. This is a skill that is taught starting in kindergarten. ... See MoreSee Less
